The Global VPL Prize is an award given to the most innovative and promising initiative in the area of the Validation of Prior Learning (VPL) worldwide. The jury, headed by the Canadian VPL expert Joy van Kleef, decided unanimously that Rockwool was the winner of the Global VPL Prize 2014.
Jury's Feedback (summary):
Rockwool has integrated VPL into the company’s training and development policy and instituted a human resource management strategy that incorporates both summative and formative VPL processes designed to enhance both employee and employer performance. By training assessors and other staff and using portfolio as the foundation, employees are assessed, provided with advising, and supported in the development of personal development plans and the opportunity steer their own internal and external education and training opportunities. External stakeholders cooperate in this venture. It is good to see the private sector so engaged in VPL and with active stakeholder cooperation.
